Anxiety in children and adolescents

Le Versant collaborates with L'Équipe jeunesse santé mentale 1ère ligne, CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest at the CLSC Vaudreuil-Dorion, for a number of workshops offered to adolescents living with anxiety (AVA) and children living with anxiety (EVA).


The groups are co-facilitated by a volunteer from Le Versant and a professional from the CLSC.


EVA group, children from 6 to 12 years old

Parents in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region can contact the CLSC in Vaudreuil-Dorion at 450-455-6171 who will direct them to the appropriate contact. For now, the groups are given in French only.

AVA group, adolescents 12-14 and 15-17

Santé mentale jeunesse 1ère et 2e ligne at the CLSC in Vaudreuil-Dorion offers many services for young persons between 12 and 17 years old: group workshops, parents-kids-adolescents meetings, individual therapy and more.

Parents in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region who want help for their youngster should call the psychosocial intake at the CLSC. They will be directed to the appropriate department.

ASD diagnosis

Young people who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Intellectual Disability (ID) and who want to obtain services can contact the DI-DP-TSA access desk at the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de la Montérégie-Ouest at 450-635-4779 ext. 3029.


Karine Plante-Boulay, social worker at Équipe Jeunesse CISSS Montérégie-Ouest, has prepared a list of references of medias (in French) and some tips (in English) that parents can consult to help their child or adolescent in managing their anxiety.



Chantal Besner, a primary school teacher in Vaudreuil-Dorion, is a specialist in children's anxiety. In 2016, she published L'anxiété et le stress chez les élèves and lectures on the subject of anxiety. Chantal was very active at Le  Versant for several years as president of the organization.
