Anxiety in children and adolescents

Le Versant collaborates with L'Équipe jeunesse santé mentale 1ère ligne, CISSS de la Montérégie-Ouest at the CLSC Vaudreuil-Dorion, for a number of workshops offered to adolescents living with anxiety (AVA) and children living with anxiety (EVA).

The groups are co-facilitated by a volunteer from Le Versant and a professional from the CLSC.

EVA group, children from 6 to 12 years old

Parents in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region can contact the CLSC in Vaudreuil-Dorion at 450-455-6171 who will direct them to the appropriate contact. For now, the groups are given in French only.

AVA group, adolescents 12-14 and 15-17

Parents in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region can register their child on the waiting list for the next workshop by completing the form for this purpose or by sending an email to Le Versant, indicating the contact telephone numbers and email address as well as the adolescent's full name and date of birth.

A person responsible for Le Versant will contact you to obtain your consent for this information to be sent to the CLSC. Subsequently, a worker from Équipe jeunesse of the CLSC will contact you to assess the young person's needs and determine with you if the AVA group is suitable.

The group includes ten young people. It is understood that the number of places available for young people who do not already have a file at the CLSC is limited. The workshop is free, but an amount of $20 is required for an activity. Parents who wish can donate to Le Versant.

The meetings are two hours per week over 10 weeks. They take place at the CLSC in Vaudreuil-Dorion from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The parents participate in one meeting with the young people and invited to an additional meeting as well as to the individual assessment carried out at the end of the session.
